A problem of ambiguity arises with the word "Swing".
The Lindy was originally danced to swing music; the dancers were called swing dancers, the dance Swing. But now, Swing may refer to a myriad of descendants of the Lindy, such a East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Country Western Swing, Single Time Swing, Triple Time Swing, Jitterbug, Boogie Woogie, and even the Southern Shag.
The major difference between the various swing dances is the music it is danced to. The word "Swing" got its name referring to the swing music the big bands were playing for the dancers.
Different music gives the various swing dances very different stylings and feelings.
We specialize in Lindy Hop. However our original instructors were West Coast Swing Dance Champions and so our style has a smoother appearance than the typical Savoy style Lindy Hop.
